SLC provides an opportunity for ladies to sing with others in a friendly, supportive environment. Having enjoyment and taking pleasure in singing with others is the primary objective and songs are chosen specifically with this in mind.

Our current repertoire is varied and includes popular songs, show tunes, religious pieces and traditional songs. Some require a piano or guitar accompaniment and others are unaccompanied.

Members are not required to be able to read music; this can be an advantage sometimes and a hindrance at others. There are no auditions so prospective members are invited to sing with the choir for a few weeks before deciding in conjunction with the musical director whether the choir is right them.

There are currently around 20 members so there is scope for a few more, especially sopranos! The intention is keep the choir small but there will be openings for good singers. We charge a monthly fee to cover costs of the venue, music,  accompanists and professional musician fees. We aim for 36 rehearsals in the year during the year.

If you are interested in joining please contact our MD  -  Grahame Jones.
